Hajime Ueda (上田 朔 / UEDA Hajime)
I’m Hajime Ueda, a PhD candidate at the University of Tokyo under the supervision of Prof. Masato Okada.
I am also a research part-time student at Adaptive Bayesian Intelligence Team at RIKEN.
My research focuses on Bayesian methods for large-scale problems. More specifically, I am interested in:
- Large-scale Bayesian inference arising in
- Scientific Imaging
- Deep Learning
- Scalable inference algorithms including
- Variational approaches
- Divide-and-Conquer approaches (such as Expectation Propagation)
- Building general tools for Bayesian methods such as
Outside of research, I have also contributed to The University of Tokyo Newspaper (東京大学新聞社), a student-run newspaper operated by a public-interest foundation.
I have written several articles on science, technology, and student life in UT.
